{Kyle and Alyse} Wedding - Saratoga Springs, CA
In October of 2016, I had a truly magical experience as the wedding photographer for Kyle and Alyse’s gorgeous forest floor wedding at Saratoga Springs in CA. I don’t think I’ve ever been a part of a wedding that was SO GREEN! Looking back at their wedding images brought a smile to my face, and I am so happy to share them today.
Kyle and Alyse’s Stunning Saratoga Springs Wedding
Kyle and Alyse are one super laid-back couple. They were so easy going and two of the kindest lovebirds I’ve ever met. I couldn't have asked for better clients.
Saratoga Springs is the Bay Area’s oldest and continuously operating picnic facility. With gorgeous forest views, where the sunlight literally pours in through the trees, it was absolutely the perfect spot for Kyle and Alyse to tie the knot. It really is a magical place almost out of a fairy tale.
Kyle and Alyse actually wanted to get married during the afternoon slot at Saratoga Springs. The venue offers both a morning and an afternoon time slot each day for ceremonies. They ended up only having the morning slot open on their selected day, so Kyle and Alyse just ran with it. It was a very early start to the day, beginning around 7:30 am with the reception ending at 3 pm.
Now, the skies were mostly cloudy that day, threatening to pour rain down on us at any moment BUT, with a little luck and A LOT of positive thinking, the rains held out until the last 20 minutes of Kyle and Alyse’s reception! Once it started raining, it didn't stop for the rest of the day. This being an outdoor ceremony and reception with no real coverage from rain, I like to think Kyle and Alyse just so happened to get the right time slot after all!
A Fairytale Forest Wedding Ceremony
The lighting was both magical and perfect for this wedding. It filtered in beautifully through the trees at the ceremony and really spoke to what a wonderful couple this was. We had an amazing portrait session, with the greens of the forest surrounding Alyse and the light through the trees illuminating her gorgeous wedding gown. I really loved the distance shots we got to take, with Kyle and Alyse standing far off amongst the damp rocks and ferns. I just can’t get enough of how much I love this venue!
I’m glad they opted to rent a tent for the dining area, they needed it towards the end. But, that’s not to say they didn’t come prepared. This couple had planned for rain that day, so when it was time for the first dance, they broke out the umbrella and had a truly romantic first dance in the rain.
Kyle and Alyse had some of their favorite people in the world attend their special day, including past teachers, and I’m so thankful they let me be a part of it as well. I wish this couple all of the best that life has to offer, and I couldn’t have dreamed up a wedding more perfect for these two.
